1. Who we are and what this policy covers
This Privacy Policy explains how TECHNICA EQUITIES LLC, doing business as UtRental ("UtRental," "we," "us" or "our"), 2303 River Hammock Ln, Fort Pierce, FL 34981, collects, uses, shares and protects personal information when you visit our website, create an account, verify your identity, rent equipment or contact us.
Our services are offered only to adults for delivery in Florida. This policy does not cover third-party websites or services we link to, which have their own privacy notices.
2. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Account details: email address, password (stored only in hashed form), account type, and, for business accounts, company name, your title, federal EIN and contractor license number if provided.
- Identity details: legal first, middle and last name, suffix, date of birth, mobile and alternate phone numbers, and home address.
- Government ID details: ID type, issuing state or country, ID number and expiration date. We pass the full ID number to our identity verification partner and keep only the last four characters in your account.

- Rental and transaction details: reservations, rental periods, equipment, charges, deposits, extensions, damage reports, typed signature and initials, and the date, time and IP address of your acceptance.
- Payment details: card information is collected and stored by our payment processor. We receive a token, the card brand, last four digits and expiration date, not the full card number.
- Communications: messages, calls, emails and texts you exchange with us, and your communication preferences.
Information collected during identity verification
Our identity verification partner collects images of the front and back of your ID, a selfie photo or short video, and data derived from them, which may include a facial geometry comparison and liveness signals, as well as device and network information used for fraud prevention. See Section 4.
Information collected when we deliver and inspect equipment
Delivery confirmations, carrier tracking data, signatures, photos of equipment at delivery, pickup and return inspection, and location or usage data from GPS or telematics devices installed on some equipment.
Information collected automatically
When you use the website we and our hosting provider receive standard log data such as IP address, browser type, device type, pages requested and timestamps. The website stores your cart, sign-in session and display preferences in your browser's local and session storage. We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking. See our Cookie & Local Storage Policy.
Information from others
Verification results from our identity verification partner, fraud signals from our payment processor, tracking updates from carriers, and information from public records or law enforcement if equipment is not returned.
3. How we use your information
- To create and manage your account and authenticate you when you sign in.
- To verify your identity and age, prevent fraud, and protect our equipment, customers and staff.
- To process reservations, payments, deposit holds, refunds and charges under the Equipment Rental Agreement.
- To deliver, ship, pick up and inspect equipment, and to send reservation, delivery and return messages.
- To provide customer service and respond to requests.
- To locate and recover overdue, lost or stolen equipment, enforce our agreements, and exercise or defend legal claims, including under section 812.155, Florida Statutes.
- To comply with tax, accounting, consumer protection and other legal obligations.
- To maintain, secure and improve the website and our services.
- To send marketing emails or texts, only if you opted in.
4. Identity verification and biometric information
We require identity verification before renting equipment. Verification is performed by a third-party service provider acting on our behalf. With your written consent given at registration, the provider compares your selfie with the photo on your ID and may create facial geometry data to do so. This information is sensitive, and we treat it that way:
- Biometric data is used only to verify your identity and prevent fraud, never for marketing, profiling or any other purpose.
- We do not sell, lease, trade or otherwise profit from biometric data, ID images or ID numbers.
- UtRental receives the verification result and limited match information (for example, whether your name, date of birth and document are valid and match). We do not receive or store facial geometry templates.
- We engage only verification providers that contractually agree to use this data solely to provide verification services to us, to protect it with appropriate security, and to permanently destroy biometric data when the verification purpose has been satisfied, and in any event within three years of your last interaction with us, unless a longer period is required by law.
If you do not consent, we cannot verify your identity and you will not be able to rent equipment. More detail is in our Identity Verification Policy.
6. How long we keep information
| Information | Retention |
|---|---|
| Account and profile details | While your account is open, then up to 5 years after your last rental to handle claims under Florida's limitations periods for written contracts |
| Last four characters of your ID number, ID type, issuer and expiration | While your account is open, then deleted with your account records |
| Verification results | While your account is open plus 5 years |
| ID images, selfies and biometric data held by the verification partner | Destroyed once verification is complete, and no later than 3 years after your last interaction with us |
| Reservations, signed agreements, invoices and tax records | At least 5 years after the rental, or longer if required by tax law or an open claim |
| Equipment inspection photos | 2 years, or until any related dispute is resolved |
| Marketing preferences | Until you opt out, then we keep a record of the opt-out |
| Website server logs | Up to 12 months |
When records are no longer needed, we delete or destroy them so that personal information is unreadable, as required by section 501.171(8), Florida Statutes.
7. How we protect information
We take reasonable measures to protect personal information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, access limited to staff who need it, service providers bound by confidentiality and security obligations, and not storing full ID numbers or card numbers in your account. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a unique password and tell us right away if you suspect unauthorized access.
If a breach of security affects your personal information, we will notify you as required by the Florida Information Protection Act (section 501.171, Florida Statutes), as expeditiously as practicable and no later than 30 days after we determine a breach occurred, unless a law enforcement agency authorizes a delay. We will also notify the Florida Department of Legal Affairs when a breach affects 500 or more Floridians.
8. Your choices and requests
- Access and correction. You can view most account details on your account page, and ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you or to correct it.
- Deletion. You can ask us to delete your account and personal information. We will delete what we can, but we must keep some records, such as signed agreements, invoices and records of unresolved charges or unreturned equipment, as described in Section 6.
- Marketing email. Use the unsubscribe link in any marketing email.
- Text messages. Reply STOP to any marketing text. Transactional texts about an active rental may continue until the rental is complete.
- Browser storage. You can clear your browser's local storage at any time, which empties your cart and signs you out.
To make a request, email egonzalezosorio@att.net with the subject "Privacy request" or call (813) 219-7246. We will confirm your identity before acting on a request, usually by matching details in your account, and respond within 45 days. We will not discriminate against you for making a request.
9. Children
Our services are for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
Because we do not sell personal information or use cross-site tracking, browser Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals do not change how the website works. We will update this section if that changes.
